Young Performers Award

As part of MITCH’s charter, a young musician or group is invited to perform at each concert throughout the year. The aim is to give young performers the opportunity to perform in public to help them build their confidence and give them a sense of performance.

Through the initial the generosity of Alan & Katherine Ross from A&K Associates with a donation of $500, MITCH inaugurated the annual Young Performers Award in 2013.

Each year, all young performers in a MITCH concert for the previous year receive the opportunity to be chosen as the Young Performer of the Year and receive the cheque for $500 to go towards their musical education.  In 2015,  an additional award, The Young Performer Encouragement Award was awarded to Rose Treed, a very young violinist whose performances at the Winter Concerts was outstanding.
