Spring Concert – 18th November 2012

Tom Walsh – Inaugural Patron MITCH

Well what a great concert we had yesterday. Wonderful feedback on the day.

For those who could not make it we had around 50 people and Henry did another great job and brought a terrific music program together.

MITCH were pleased to introduce Tom Walsh as its inaugural Patron. Tom was most humble in his acceptance as our inaugural Patron and was given great applause when it was announced.

About Tom Walsh:

“Tom continues to have a long association with music in the Central Highlands area. With a classical training background Tom found his love is in folk music, which has seen him performing in Australia and around the Central Highlands area for over 60 years.

Following in the footsteps of his grandfather, his musicianship has also been passed down to his children and grandchildren, making them the 4th and 5th generations of musicians  performing at concerts in the area.

Tom is also represented in the Archives in Canberra for his musicianship and knowledge of Settlers Music where he has recorded the early settlers’ tunes.

Through his great love and support of music and the encouragement of other musicians, both young and old, we are delighted that Tom has agreed to be our Patron”
